The Old West Durham/Watts Hillandale Safe Streets team has begun the task of engaging the community in the development of traffic-calming initiatives throughout the two neighborhoods. We are busy contacting Ninth and Broad Street business owners, the NC School of Science and Math, E.K. Powe Elementary, area churches, and residents. Every community stakeholder has an opportunity to envision safer spaces, voice concerns and share ideas for improvement.
